Kangaroos
The western grey kangaroo is the species found in this area. They can reach heights of 2 meters when standing. They are easily spooked by sudden noise or movement and hop at speeds up to 60 km/h.

They unfortunately come in contact with vehicles that often kill them. By carefully removing the baby kangaroo (known as a joey) from the pouch of its dead mother, keeping it warm and quiet, it can be brought to one of the carers for rehabilitation.

We then bottle feed joeys up to 6 times a day, depending on their size. There is nothing more enjoyable for them than a cuddle from a carer, helping to substitute the loss of their mother.
